Human in the Loop is a Fetch Hive workflow step that pauses a workflow and asks a workspace member to make a choice or provide a written response before the workflow continues. It is designed for workflows where automation can gather, filter, or prepare information, but a person still needs to make the final decision.

This is useful when you want to keep control over important choices without turning the whole process into manual work. A workflow can collect candidate articles, leads, research angles, products, tasks, or approval options, then Human in the Loop sends a short-lived approval link by Email or Telegram so the selected person can respond securely.

Use Human in the Loop after an RSS, search, or research step to ask a teammate which article, trend, or topic should be researched next. The selected option can then continue through the workflow as the input for deeper research, summarization, or content planning.

Approval before publishing or sending

Pause a workflow before a final output is used, shared, or sent to another tool. A workspace member can review the prepared option, approve the best choice, or provide a text response with final instructions before the workflow continues.

Human-guided research workflows

Let automation collect options, but let a person choose the direction. For example, a workflow can find several competitor mentions, market updates, or customer questions, then ask a teammate which one should become the focus of the next step.

You can see when the workflow paused, who was asked to respond, which option or text response was submitted, and how later steps used that answer. Human in the Loop uses a fixed workflow-step credit charge and does not call an LLM by itself, making it easier to understand cost while keeping approval-based workflows measurable.

What response types does Human in the Loop support?

Human in the Loop supports two response modes: Choices and Text area. Choices mode lets the recipient select from a list of options, while Text area mode lets them submit a written response.

How is the recipient notified?

Fetch Hive can notify the recipient by Email or Telegram. Email mode sends the approval link to the selected workspace member, while Telegram mode sends it to the configured Fetch Hive bot destination.

Can I use Human in the Loop inside parallel or iteration steps?

No. Human in the Loop does not support step-level parallelization and cannot be placed inside an iteration body in the current version.

What happens if the recipient does not respond in time?

If the wait timeout expires, the step follows its configured failure behavior. The workflow can either terminate or continue, depending on how the step is configured.
